Whether you live with ME/CFS yourself, want to become publicly visible with us or would like to support our work: Under a Rest e.V. offers a form of membership that fits you.
Every membership helps make ME more visible, strengthens people affected by the disease and allows our awareness work to grow.
Silent Mitglied
For people with ME who want to be part of Under a Rest — at their own pace, without pressure and with a genuine sense of belonging. As a Silent Member, you are part of our association even if your energy is barely enough for the essentials of everyday life. You do not have to perform. You do not have to prove anything. You do not have to be visible if you cannot or do not want to be. You still belong.
- Belonging & a safe space: Access to the Silent community, exclusive member information and a space centred around understanding and connection.
- Visibility — if you want it: If you choose, you can appear as a Silent Member on our website and share your perspective through guest articles.
- A gift every year: You receive one Silent Shirt per year free of charge as a visible symbol of your membership.
- Exclusive newsletters: Receive regular updates and insights into our work.
- Help shape the association without pressure: You can contribute ideas and help shape Under a Rest without any expectation to perform. As a member, you also have voting rights at general meetings and association votes.

Loud Member
For everyone who wants to become visible with us — as part of the team, at events and loud for those who can no longer be loud themselves. As a Loud Member, you become part of our awareness team. You carry our message into the world, take a stand at races, events and campaigns and help us bring ME/CFS to where it is still far too often missing: into the heart of public life.
- Part of the Loud for the Silent team: Join us at campaigns, sporting events and public appearances.
- Visibility & community: If you wish, you can be featured on our website as a supporter and gain access to our community spaces and exclusive member information.
- Member benefits for team apparel: Receive discounts on our team clothing and access to limited-edition runner shirts.
- Have a say: As an association member, you have voting rights at general meetings and association votes.

Supporting Member
For everyone who wants to support our work on an ongoing basis and help us make ME/CFS more visible. As a Supporting Member, you strengthen Under a Rest behind the scenes without taking part in sporting activities — but with real impact. Your contribution helps us sustain education, public awareness and projects for people living with ME/CFS.
- Stay close to our work: Receive newsletters and project updates and stay connected to what we are building.
- Be part of an important movement: Support our work and, if you wish, be publicly listed as an official supporter.
